Bruno Langlois, gifted bike gamer and talented lady catcher reveals all
in this overseas email interview with Jon Hamblen
Jon Hamblen: What team do you ride with?
Bruno Langlois: AEG-Toshiba JetNetwork
JH: How is that team working out?
BL: Pretty cool team to be in.
JH: We heard you got into a fight and spent a night in jail recently.
How was jail, is it as hard as it's cracked up to be or is that just
a myth?
BL:Well i kind a miss jail... Pretty much the best that i know of.
JH: Bruno, being Canadian, Quebecois, specifically, can you tell us how
to ride in snow?
BL:We don't ride in the snow man but we train like Rocky IV to stay fit.
JH: Well, that's weird. What do you think would be more fun to watch, the
cars or the motorcycles?
BL: CARS i think...
JH: So, you're at the Sun Tour avoiding the cold French Canadian autumn
weather. Do you miss the gravy fries right now?
BL: Yes i can't wait to go back and eat a POUTINE (I'm not sure if we can
print that Bruno...) with a MOLSON EX.
ED (how to pronounce gravy-fries in
Quebec-ish)
JH:How about the maple syrup?
BL: Maple syrup is so good i always miss it but today i just bought some
NUTELLA... better then nothing.
JH: One time when I was in Quebexico I ordered ham, they called it
jambon. Jambon sounds kinda like Hambone. Would you guys call me
Jambon if I lived in French Canadia?
BL: Sound like a good idea to me bro.
JH: Two of your teammates are really tall. What country did they travel
to for the height operation?
BL: I don't know but they should play Basketball.
JH: No way they are that tall naturally.
JH: Since they aren't around for most of the road races, how do Trebon
and Wicks fit in with the usual road group when you guys are all
together at one event? Does anyone have a conflict with them, you know,
because of their height?
BL:They are pretty cool guys and easy to deal with. I like to be in their
draft... It's like motorpacing.
JH:Have you tried any mountain bike racing?
BL: No i'm not a fan of mud.
(Those who know Bruno may find this unbelievable, since he has a
fondness for doing it regular...)
JH:How about cyclocross?
BL:No because i can't ride my bike all year long. I party and drink beer in
the off season this is part of my training schedule.
JH: Why don't more Quebexicans race 'cross?
BL:Because nobody races on [cross bikes] and only a few guys think it's cool.
Like that Matt Tolouse? He's getting to be quite the 'cross racer.
JH:You used to ride for Espoirs du Laval. What ever happened to Alex
Lavalle?
BL:He races for a amateur team in QC, Louis Garneau Optics, and works in
industrial design.
JH: We hear he's running a team.
BL: Yes kind of a DS and player at the same time.
JH: Were you the guy in the break with Andy Bishop and I at the
Burlington Crit back in '99?
BL: F-ck yeah i remember that man.

JH: Who the hell was that?... (oh, it was you) Thanks for
letting me beat you.
BL: No Problem i'm a nice guy u know haha! (he really did let me beat him in
the sprint. afterwards he said "you didn't know which one I was, did
you?" There were about ten other EdL guys in the race and Quebes all
look the same to me. Anyhow, since I couldn't tell who had lapped with
me, he let me beat him.)
JH: When are you done racing this year?
BL: After Sun Tour i'm done. Party season starts in downtown Rimouski, QC.
JH: Where are you going to live this winter?
BL: I go back in 1 month to Rimouski my hometown. Then i don't know, maybe
florida or Tobago, see my new girl friend... I'll see.
JH: Ever seen a grown man naked?
BL:What the shit is that question
JH: Thanks for the interview Bruno and good luck down there.
